We’re excited to announce that our Cambia thermally modified wood siding was recently installed on TideSmart Global’s Viridescent House, Maine’s first-ever net-positive, Passive House. The Passive House certification is a rigorous, voluntary, international standard for energy efficiency in a building.
Maine does have a handful of other net-zero buildings in the state, but this house is uniquely designed by Portland-based architecture firm, BRIBURN, to produce twice the amount of energy needed to sustain itself, making it a net-positive house. Each building material and design decision was carefully researched and selected to optimize energy efficiency.
